A Modern Blackhouse
A modern blackhouse designed to reflect the natural heritage of the agricultural buildings and rock on which it sits whilst taking in the spectacular views from the small outcrop on the West coast of the Island enjoying views for 30 miles along the coast.
Brighid is a luxury holiday home designed for couples only, and we regret we do not allow pets.
The house has been designed to reduce its impact on the environment with energy-efficient technologies providing hot water and underfloor heating. A small wood-burning stove allows for cosy winter evenings.
Full height South facing glazing with access to outside decking from the bedroom and living space allows you to enjoy the views both inside and out. Full height glazing to the bathroom with a freestanding bath offers total relaxation while watching a breathtaking sunset or waves crash on the shore.
Brighid interior takes inspiration from the islands' Scandinavian heritage with modern minimalist furniture mixed with some hints to more traditional materials.
Brighid is a recently built, architecturally designed home that meets all current standards for energy efficiency. It is fully accessible for guests of all abilities. A stay at Brighid includes:
- Energy-efficient heat pump hot water and underfloor heating
- Digital wireless controlled heating (you shouldn’t need to touch controls)
- Low energy LED lighting throughout
- Remote-controlled roller blinds to all rooms (blackout blind to bedroom) and voile curtains to the bathroom for privacy in addition to blinds
- Large 55” HD TV to living space
- Woodburning stove with all required accessories
- Deck chairs within the external storage box
- Nespresso coffee machine, with a selection of capsules (recycle box for used capsules

We had a fantastic stay at Brighid, the house has amazing views and everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable holiday. Nature is right on the door step, sea eagles, sheep and lots of seabirds! Thank you Roddy and Wilma for making our holiday so enjoyable, we will definitely be back very soon.
What a lovely little gem with breathtaking views!!! We spent hours looking out to the Atlantic in all weathers possible (all happening in one day!) The house is positioned so close to the cliffs and has the best views over the ocean, it's warm (it also has a wood burning stove) , it's cozy (comfy bed) , it's modern and it has all you could possibly need for a perfect getaway.
