Q: What is the weather like on the Isle of Lewis? What should I pack?
Throughout the year, the Outer Hebrides weather is famously unpredictable! Expect sunshine, rain, wind, and even all three in a single day.
We recommend packing layers of clothing, including waterproof and windproof jackets and trousers, warm sweaters, hats, gloves, and sturdy footwear (walking boots or wellies are advisable).
Don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen, even on cloudy days. It's also a good idea to bring a small umbrella.

We provide an interactive guide with your booking. Look through that for locations of all the places we recommend together with directions.
This area of Scotland offers a wealth of activities — you can explore stunning beaches like Dalmore, hike to the Clisham, visit the Callanish Standing Stones, go birdwatching at the Port of Ness, or try your luck at fishing. That's just the start of the itinerary you could build for your stay on the Isle of Lewis.

Q: What happens if there's a power cut during my stay?
In the event of a power cut, we usually get notified by text message of the outage and expected duration, so we will keep you informed of progress to restore supply.
We have battery-powered lights in the house if needed, but the the best thing to do is put the fire on and get cosy.
If the power cut persists, you can contact us directly using the telephone number provided in your welcome pack.
